Legal Question in Consumer Law in Louisiana
Can I buy a gun if I was in a Mental and Behavioral Health Center before the age of 15?
I am 20 now and I am worried that I will not be able to buy a rifle because I was in a Mental and Behavioral Health Center at the age of around 13 and a Residential Treatment and Achievement Center at the age of 15. I have read up on the requirements for buying a rifle over and over and it says that you can not buy a gun if, "one has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution". I co own a business with my father, and I am in college, but I fear that this will keep me from buying a rifle.
