Legal Question in Consumer Law in Louisiana

Changing my mind about buying a car

I recently put a down payment on a car, the next day I decided to go to a different lot to purchase a car. I signed a hand written note saying that the money was not refundable, is there anyway to get my money back? I never took custody of the car and never got it insured, it has never left the lot with me.

The money you paid was in a sense to hold the car for you. It is not refundable. A deal is a deal.

No, there is no way to get your money back if the contract states its not refundable. In fact, unless its a rent to own deal, the car lot can actually sue you to enforce the sale if they have a valid agreement to purchase a vehicle.
