Legal Question in Consumer Law in Louisiana
My dad purchased a dog from a lady who owns a breeding company. She said she guarantees their health, but once they see a regular vet, the guarantee is void. She does not offer refunds, but says she will allow them to chose another dog. Well within 2 days, he found the dog unresponsive at 4am. He automatically rushed the dog to an animal hospital. The vet told him the dog was suffering from a parasite and it was in its advanced stages. The dog was released from emergency, and he was allowed to bring him to the vet. Soon after, the seller offered to take the puppy in and bring him back to health. He died a few days later in her care. Now she is saying the guarantee is void because the dog went to the vet and is refusing to replace the dog. Is there anything we can do?

File a suite for your money back. If the purchase amount was less than $5,000, you can file in small claims court without a lawyer.
