Legal Question in Consumer Law in Louisiana
Floor Installation
After signing a contract to have flooring installed in my home and paying half down, the floor was put in incorrectly. Am I responsible for paying the other half even though the work is not representative of the normal quality from this store? The owner himeself said the floor was ''Screwed Up'' and is now wondering why I canceled payment on my check for the final payment. What can I do if he demands full payment?

Re: Floor Installation
No, you have the right to have the floor you contracted for. I assume the contract required half down and the remaining half upon completion.
If the floor you contracted for was not properly installed, then the contract is not complete. You have the right to have the incorrect floor taken up and the correct floor properly installed. If he refuses, you have the right, with sufficient notice and under certain circumstances, to have someone else come in, take up the floor and install
