I a house painter and i painted a room fro a house owner and they dont want to pay. how to recieve money from someone i did work for and thet dont want to pay?

Sue them in small claims court. You can sue for up to $3,000 or $5,000, depending on where you sue. You have to pay court costs, but you will get them back from the defendant if you win. You want to sue either where the defendant lives, or where the work was done (where you painted the house). Look up the local Justice of the Peace and give them the address. Ask them if their jurisdiction covers that address. The process is easy and you don't need a lawyer.
