Legal Question in Consumer Law in Louisiana
I would like to own/purchase a replica Congressional Medal of Honor for my WW2 collection. Is it possible to receive a permit to own this medal for a historical personal collection?

I don't believe any permit would be required. It is legal for anyone to own even a real one, although owning the medal (in a physical sense) would not entitle you to the rights and privileges of the medal. Many medals have been sold over the years by the families of deceased medal winners. Once given, it becomes personal property like anything else and can be given or sold as the owner sees fit. Moreover, nothing produced by the federal government may be copyrighted, so I think you have clear sailing to use either the replica or the real thing as you like without fear.
