Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana
In 2004 I co-signed a loan for my then boyfriend. We have been apart for 6 years now and the debt is unpaid. I received a judgement against me 2 years ago. I just got a summons to appear in court again so that my property and finances can be assessed. All that I have is a car(paid for), which my brother is the primary on. Can they still take it???

They can only seize unencumbered items that are in your name.
