Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana
I am 57 and on disability . My home and auto was paid for before losing everything during hurricane Ike . After hurricane Rita I purchased a new auto because I had no debt and my car was 8 years old at the time . When Ike came along and destroyed my home (that was payed for ) I had no choice ,but to purchase a new home . Now due to the added expense I am not able to pay all of my bills . The only thing I can let go is the car and Chrysler credit will not refinance . I have tried to trade down but I still owe to much and depreciation has rendered the auto worthless . I am at a loss as to my options .

You may be able to give the car back and the lender could waive their right to pursue for additional monies. You can discuss this with them or get an attorney to help negotiate.
