Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

my car was repossessed today I had to save about 500 dollars to fix it I talked to repo man about 3 weeks ago when he showed up to my job n I told him where the car was getting fixed he waited until the car was fixed to take it what can I do? I talked to the auto salesman at the dealership n I have to pay 1700 dollars in 3 days to the it back. I've spent all this money fixing the car when could have taken 3 weeks ago. What can I do? Is this legal?
