Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana
I have a client who gave me a deposit to make a custom product in May of 2010. We set up several installs for the completed product, but no one was there. She would always apologize each time we set up next install date, but again no one there. I had a conversation with her around mid 2011 and told her that she would have to provide final payment before we would come again. I have not been able to reach her and I have attempted to send her certified mail which comes back when she does not pick it up from post office. I am not sure what to do now. I do have some rods that she gave me in order to complete the job to her satisfaction. Should I leave her rods on her front porch since I can't get in touch with her? Can I write off balance? Since it is custom made she should forfeit her deposit, correct? Can I sell the products?

Send one more letter giving her a certain date to respond by or you will sell the product and indicate you are returning rods by dropping off on porch. Even though she doesn't pick up the letters-the green card you received back, indicates she was served for court purposes.
