Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

a collection agency has just had papers served to my moms house, given to my wife.... for a credit card debt. they are trying to get a judgment against me if i don't respond in 15 days to thier claim the court will grant thier judgment.... I do not live in louisiana, and have not recieved any letters or any other form of contact for almost 2 and a half years, from a debt collector or the bank that is listed....they have stated in thier petition that i live in deridder .. I currently have no job,home or assets, and really am not sure how to handle this matter. is thier a way to stop a judgment..... or this adb finacial managment group from trying to get a judgment without contacting me...

If you were living at the mom's that is your domicile and they have domiciliary service on you. They will get a judgment against you by virtue of domiciliary service. You need a lawyer to file exceptions or an answer.
