Dear Law Guru Friend,

The answer to your question would

depend on a lot of things. One, was the

bankruptcy a Chapter Seven or a Chapter

11, or what. If a Seven, all of its assets

become property of the trustee upon filing.

If the banruptcy was under another chapter

of the Bankruptcy Code, then perhaps the

creditor/bankrupt would still have a right

to collect on the account. However, you

need to find out the answer to your

question, given more information. Get the

name and number of the bankruptcy, call the

Bankruptcy Court and find out who the trustee

is and discuss this matter with him. Also, if

you would like to discuss it further with me,

feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

with you addresses and phone number; and I will

get back with you--all at no charge. Act now, don't

hope it all just goes away!

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, J.D.
