If they received a judgment awarding them monies, this judgment is good for ten years but they can renew it. If there is no judgment, they have 3 years from the date of the last payment to pursue an action. There is a $15,000 homestead exemption against seizure by creditors. If the property is worth more they could pursue a seizure action, but this is a new action based on a judgment previously granted.
