Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

my credit card went into collections. i have paid on it since 2009. they stopped taking it out for a year. thought it was paid off and then the collections called back a year later and said who ever was taking care of my account pretty much dropped the bomb and didn't know what happened. so they started taking out again. can they do this? is this legal? shouldn't they be liable for this. they told me i owed for attorney fees. which was suppose to have been waivered since i set up them taking out of my account before they went to court. and the lady was very rude and said that i still owe on attorney fees. and i owe another 1085. since then they have taken out 4 hundred something dollars since november. is this correct practice

You can stop them from taking the money from the account if you feel you are overpaying.
