Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

Can my husband (an authorized user) be held responsible to pay his deceased father's credit card bill even though my husband has NEVER charged or used the card? My father-in-law lived in LA and we live in NC. Upon his death, the credit card company changed the card from my father-in-law name to my husband's name.
