Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana
my husband cosigned for a cowerker of his. he never got a copy of the contract. he was told that the contract is for a loan that the cowerker got from their company union. the cowerker stopped paying the loan, so the union asks my husband to pay. my husband asked for a copy of the contract and a copy of the statement that show the payments that habe been done so far. the union didn't give him anything and my husband started paying. they gave him a receipt a few weeks later. we want to know what options dod we have. we think that the union has done something illigal, becaue they don't show us a copy of the papers(a copy of the full contract with conditions and everything+ a payment satement). the coworker is neighbour and friend of the guy who is handling the papers in the union and we think this was premeditated. what options do we have? if we declare the union as bad business, what do we have to lose

Unless they give you copies of everything you for which you are to be responsible , do not pay. You were entitled to copies upon agreeing to act as a signatory.
