Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

I have had a judgment enforcement business in Louisiana for 5 years. I would like to start doing judgment/credit card settlements. I was told this is considered debt adjustment. I have been researching and in the state of Louisiana there is no license for this. I read somewhere that a non-profit can do this can someone guide me? I don't want to get sued for not having the right licesnses. I want to offer my serivces to businesses and consumers who are experiencing financial hardship to settle credit card are judgments that they are behind on. I'm not clear on how this type of business can be a non-profit.

You will need to consult a tax professional and an attorney familiar with setting up non-profits. The structure must be done properly and it is not something you can be coached to do on your own.
