Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

Lien release from divorce proceedings

My exhusband has not put a maufactured home in his name only. How can I get my name off the loan so it doesn't reflect on my credit record?

I am assuming the loan was obtained while you were married to your ex-husband and you were living in Louisiana. Unless you and your husband had a separation of property agreement, the loan on the manufactured home is a community debt.

The only real way to get rid of your responsibility would be to either (a) have the lender voluntarily agree to let you off the hook (not likely) or (b) have your husband refinance the loan in is name only.
