Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

I went in for a medical procedure and told them I was paying out of pocket because I did not have insurance that would cover my procedure. I did not even provide my Insurance info. for that reason. I was told my total out of pocket costs would be $130 and I paid it then and there. (I had already verified the cost the day before with their "fee for service" department in order to be that I could pay the procedure before having it done.) One month later they sent me a bill for an extra $250 more because they went ahead and filed with my insurance (which I asked them not to do and of course did Not cover the expense!). Now they want me to pay more! I have documented every conversation. This happened in August. I've called and explained my situation at least 10 times now but to no avail. They stated it was under review but now they will be sending me to collections. I can't get a hold of anyone who will talk to me about this, I only get their customer service people who read the notes on the account. They are now claiming that the $130 was a "qoute" and although my insurance didn't pay, the extra money I owe is a discount offered because I have insurance. Is there anything I can do about this? Will it cost more to defend myself or should I just roll over and let them bulldoze me?
