Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

I have been having power of attorney of my mother since June of 2006 and my mother signed for my neice a student loan without my knowledge. Is my mother obligated to pay for this loan?

Unless your mother has been interdicted, the power of attorney is just for times when she is not able to transact business. She still is able to transact any business she chooses.

Yes, unless a competent court previously ruled she was incapable of handling her own affairs and/or obligate herself.
