Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana
Redline Recovery left a message on my sister answer machine. And said that I owe them money on a credit card that they were collecting on. They did ask where for my location or phone number. Is this legal. They also called my mother phone and left the same message on her machine.

They are attempting to find you and these actions are legal. You need to send them a certified letter, requesting a return receipt. In the letter, dispute the debt, give them a good address and tell them they are only to contact you in writing. This will limit them to one letter per month legally.

It's all legal unless they are trying to collect a debt that is not owed.
