Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

I had TMJ surgery in November, 2010. I knew and was also told by the Dr's office that my insurance would not cover this surgery. I explained that I needed to know exactly how much the procedure would cost, as I could not afford to get exhorbitant bills afterwards. I was given a total price of $1860.00, which covered the Dr's fee, anesthesia and facility fee. I paid this amount in full prior to the surgery. I was contacted by the Dr's office last week (May 2011) that they made a mistake in the fees and I should have been charged $4800.00. I was told that I need to pay this difference as soon as possible. Do I have any legal obligation to pay this amount? I paid in full, in good faith, prior to the procedure, the total amount that they provided. Can they legally come back 6 months later and tell me they made a mistake and I owe the difference?

If you have evidence that you were told the full price and paid that price with receipt marked paid in full or such; a court would find it difficult to order you to pay anything further.
