Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
In 1997 I was arrested in Dallas, TX for credit card abuse for using a credit card with my name on it but it was attached to a fraudlent account I didn't know about. I went to court in 1999 and plead no contest and received deferred probation which was transferred to Louisiana. I served 2 years probation paid restitution and probation fees, etc. However, when I went for a finger print background check it showed up that I was charged with the crime and given probation. Does this ever go away since I was told that deferred probation means the person was never convicted so it's not lying to say you've never been convicted....Help?
