You don't need to file a motion to represent yourself- you should inform the judge at arraignment or motion date. However, there are discovery motions, motions to quash/suppress and perhaps others. You are charged with a felony and a crime of violence. I strongly suggest you obtain counsel whether hired privately or appointed by court.

You are charged with a crime that could result in life imprisonment without the benfit of parole, probation or a suspended sentence. You are asking strangers on the internet to tell you how to not have a lawyer. If you think about it, you need a lawyer very much.
