Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
''alleged forged checks''
I strongly suspect that checks were forged from my ex-husband's account after his death. I tried to report this to the district attorney and he said I had no ''proof''. I have no earthly idea how one gets proof of forgery except that checks were appearing that were suspicious. I went to the local police to file and was told I cannot file in the district where the deceased person lived. What area district would I be able to file for alleged forged checks of a deceased persons checking account?

Re: ''alleged forged checks''
The jurisdiction is the district where the checks were written. Has the bank been notified of his death? I'm sure they would rather not pay forged checks.
