Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

Bumper rub

I need help, this past Saturday I rub the bumper of a car in a parking lot. Then I did everything wrong that I could, I panicked, I drove off without leaving a note, I didn't call anyone, and to make matters worse there were several people standing in the immediate vicinity who could easily have seen my license plate. Now there was only a light scuff on my paint that wiped off easily but I don't know how their vehicle faired (plastic bumpers being what they are). I would like to pay for any repairs if need be but I don't want to aquire other fines and I don't want to have a hit run search on my car (which is not registered in my name). Please give me some guidance, this is setting heavy on my shoulders and I want to make it right. Plus I hate every minute of wondering if their is a letter on its way to my grandfathers house about the accident...I'm lost. Thanks for your time and help I don't know where else to turn.

Re: Bumper rub

First of all, your willingness to do the right thing is laudable, especially in today's ME-ME, MY-MY society. There is probably very little you can do about this problem, since it occurred on a parking lot. Wait for the letter and then address the problem at that time and do the right thing. It will probably never come. Be sure to tell your grandfather and everyone else who needs to know. Show them the scuff to the car and then forget it.
