Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

cameras on our property

We have had cameras for 2 years on our property due to the spike in crime after Hurricane Katrina. Someone bought the two houses next to us and has not been a good neighbor (Michael Vick Issues). Anyways he has called the police about one of our cameras, which we were told by the police, is not illegal and was also told that if we have the cameras for security and safety if it happens to catch a portion of his yard that was ok. As long as we are not directing the camera at a window and peeping in. I really need clarification about this because the police in my area have never had to deal with this before and the guy is threatening me about pressing criminal charges. What are my rights?

Re: cameras on our property

People often threaten to "press charges". The truth is:

1. There has to be a crime. If you are not invading the neighbor's privacy I cannot think of a crime you are committing. There may be one as I only know the facts as you tell them but under those facts I don't know of one.

2. The D.A., not your neighbor, decides who will be prosecuted.
