Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
I had charges and a protective order against me in another state. I was also charged with violating the protection order before it was ever served to me, The judge threw the other charges out, but the violation of a protective order is still pending. Can they do this? And is the protective order still instated of the charges are dropped?

The protective order is separate from charges. If you were not served with the protective order, you did not violate it. You should not be found guilty. However, the order is now in effect and you should be cautious to avoid violating it from here on.
