Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
What does it mean when the DA offers a person a plea deal "AFTER" that person has been already convicted in a jury trial? Sentencing was postponed because of this new deal. Is it because the DA is fearful of losing the appeal?

It might be. It also might be a prosecutor who thinks he overcharged considering the circumstances. What does your lawyer think?
