Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
To this very day I am 65 years old - born 6/13/1945. In 1985 I was arrested for Distribution of Marijuana. I was put on probation for the crime. Records are now showing a felony carrying the dates of 11-18-85 to 11-18-90. I am trying to open a business and have been denied because of that felony reasons stated as: LSA RS 26:80 A (4) and 26:280 A (4) - for the reason that you have previously been convicted of a felony under the laws of the United States of America, State of Louisiana, or any other state or country. I am seeking to be pardoned/expunged from this so I can get my Alcoholic Beverage Permit. Can I just do a petition to have my records cleared? If so, where do I get the proper forms?

Assuming that was your first felony, you should have received a first felony pardon.
In recent years expungement has become more complicated in Louisiana. I would strongly suggest that you consult with a lawyer who practices criminal law in the parish where you were convicted.
