definition of aggravated assault
I need a specific description of the charges of aggravated assault and simple assault in the state of Louisiana. Thank you.

Re: definition of aggravated assault
An assault is an attempted battery or a threat (more than verbal) of physical violence. In other words, saying "I'm going to kill you," is not an assault, but drawing your fist back physically threatening to punch someone is.
Aggravated assault is the same but adds the use of a dangerous weapon into th e threat or attempt.
