Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
domestic abuse/ child endangerment
My husband and his 14 yr old daughter got into an argument. He spanked her several times and she would not listen to him. She kept physically fighting him and he slapped her and left a mark on her stomach and she called 911. He was arrested in Louisiana for domestic abuse and child endangerment. His bond is $50,000 and it will take 12% to bond him out. He doesn't have money for an attorney, so they are appointing one for him. He hasn't seen an attorney yet. I am wondering if he will get prison time for these offenses? Any information anyone can give me will be very much appreciated.

Assuming you witnessed the incident, it would seem that your and his testimony will convince the court that it was not abuse.
