Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Ethical Dilemma:
If a paralegal were interviewing a client for a lawyer and the client suddenly blurts out that she commited the crime of shoplifting that she was going to go back the next day and steal some more; what is the paralegal ethically and legally supposed to do? She specifically asks the paralegal not to tell his supervising attorney. What should the paralegal do?

Re: Ethical Dilemma:
You must tell the attorney you work for. If you start keeping secrets from him, you won't work there very long. You are an extension of the attorney.
