Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
My ex-husband is a surgical tech, not licensed to practice medicine, however, he injected our son's hand with a numbing agent he obtained from the hospital he works for and put stitches in his hand without my consent or knowledge. He then gave me a type of bandage that requires a prescription to get that he stole from the place he works. Aside from the obvious theft from his workplace, is this illegal? Is this practicing medicine without a license?

Probably. I would suggest you contact the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners.
I agree with Casanave.....and you can contact the DA's office. However, every time you give your son legal advice or fix a medical problem with something you have in your house...or that his grandparents do, is someone going to bring criminal charges? Divorces are bad things and people are angry, so unless your ex hurt your child you need to think about starting problems. You need to be careful because you may alienate your child by going after his dad and trying to affect his earning capacity. Oh, and are you receiving child support?
