Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Can I get an expungement?
I received a felony charge for cashing my ex-husbands royalty checks(actually, he could collect on only 3,the others were cashed during our marriage). I cashed them at the federal credit union where I banked. He filed charges against the credit union to retreive his money, they paid him, then the credit union or state filed charges against me. I received 3 months probation, 3 months at home, 30 days in a half-way house and I had to pay restitution. I am a grants writer, I am skilled, professional but, because I have a felony, I cannot work in my field. Can I get an expungement now, it has been approximately eight years.

Re: Can I get an expungement?
It depends on the way you were sentenced. Contact a criminal defense lawyer in the parish where you were convicted.
