Re: Expunge

Dear Law Guru Friend,

Yes, you can do it yourself if you know how or are able to find out how. That's what we lawyers do: make sure we know how to do things involving the government and the justice systems or are able to find out how. However, I suggest you work out an arrangement with that lawyer to pay the $500.00, and let him do it for you. I do not think there is any time limit within which you have to do an expungement. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Re: Exsponge

Go to the clerk of court's office where the charges were filed and they probably have a form you can use to do it yourself. There is a filing fee in EBR of $100.00 that the clerk of court collects at the time of filing. The filing fee in another parish may be more or less.

Re: Exsponge

If you were convicted of a felony, how was it "dropped?" Are you saying you were arrested for a felony which was later dropped?
