Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Is it really a felony?
In 2001 I was charged and convicted of illegal possession of stolen things. I served six months unsupervised probation. Is it true that it was a felony? And if so I feel really stupid for going six years thinking it wasn't.

Re: Is it really a felony?
How much was the property worth? If it was worth over $300, then it is a felony. If less than $300 it is a misdemeanor. Also, if you were sentenced under Code of Criminal Procedure 893, then it was a felony and if you were sentenced under 894, it was a misdemeanor. Hope that helps.
