Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

hello, I have a friend who is in the st bernard parish jail. he has been there since august, he was picked up on a felony warrent for theft and simple burglary. his son was charged with the same crime and took the conviction of probation and restitution.the charges where supposed to dropped against the codefendents which we thought his father was . my friend has been assigned a public defender who despite several requests has yet to go see him in jail. also we have found out that the victum wants him to stay in jail and be prosecuted.my friend is sick with a few health problems;cancer ,enlarged spline ,etc we were told that the judge was supossed to call the warden and tell him that my friend was to get treatment even at a hospital if need be well he was taken to see the doctor but was stopped by a lietenant and she told him to take some tylanol and taken back to his cell without seeing the doctor ,they wont reduce his bond so we can get him out and take him to the va hospital,what can we do to help him.his son is supposed to write an affidavid to say he was not involved in taking the stuff he was asleep. will the sons statement help my friend .thank you also he lives in florida

The affidavit may help but what the son needs to do is to talk to the prosecutor. If you are not getting service from the public defender, you need to find out his/her supervisor and contact them.
