You are usually prohibited from committing another violation during your probation period. Often misdemeanors will not affect your probation but you need to communicate about it with your probation officer. If the first violation was a DWI, you are now facing a 2d offense DWI. Remember that each parish has access to your entire criminal history no matter where the violations occur.

If your probation is for DWI then you could have it revoked and do the time. Additionally, the 2nd DWI could carry additional penalties above the normal first offense. And if the probation if for a 2nd or higher numbered DWI, you could face serious time for another one.
