Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Illegal entry in an inhabited building
I stayed the night in my college dorm (RA was in the building) during the summer when school was out - and have been arrested for illegal entry in an inhabited building. I know it was stupid, but what do I do now? I never appeared before a judge - the date is set for next month. What do I do - public defender or go before the judge myself?

The public defender knows a lot more law than you do. At worst it gets you one more smart friend.
