What kind of penalty can I get for simple battery in Lafayette. I have a prior simple battery charge but it was dropped when they did not show up to court. Also have prior disturbing the peace and drinking under the age of 21 which I got outstanding warrant for not attending class resulting in 5 days in jail and fees and probation.

Simple Battery carries a penalty of up to 6months plus fines and costs. The judge can take your criminal history into account when deciding a sentence or whether to allow probation.
