Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
La. Death Penalty Pardon
I am looking for a Louisiana Death Penalty Case inwhich the recipient of a last minute Governor's pardon declined the offer and was executed. He was convicted of murdering his family. The question before the Louisisana supreme Court was whether the condemned man was pardoned when the pardon was extended or only after the offer is accepted. They Court held the pardon must be accepted.
