Laws in effect at time of arrest
If a law is in effect at the time of an arrest but that law changes before trial and sentencing would the new law or the old law be effective?

More information is needed. The law at the time of the commission of the crime would ordinarily rule. However, there are a number of factors which could affect which of the laws applied.
