Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Legal question - Theft
Several weeks ago I was arrested by a local Sheriff's dept because a guy that I was currently with had been stealing things. I pawned these things knowing they were stolen. I was only with him a few times when he went into a garage and stole a few generators. The guy is in jail. I told the officers everything I knew about the thefts and have been very cooperative with them. They are telling me that I will have two warrants on me. They said that I would have theft charges the same as the guy in jail but they haven't put me in jail yet. I have never been in any trouble before. They have also asked me to help them solve some other cases unrelated to mine in order to help myself. I am just waiting any day for them to come get me and put me in jail and I do not have funds to bond myself out. I am not sure what is going on. Is there anything I can do about this? I am really afraid and do not want to go to jail. I have helped them as much as I can.
