Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
We live in Louisiana and my husband has plead guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The girl was 16. Along with the felony charge he will have to register as a sex offender. We have 2 small children together and I fear for how this will impact their lives. My husband's attorney has told us that if the parents of the 16 year old would let him plea to a lesser charge then the D.A. would allow that. But of course, they are very angry. My husband has not been sentenced yet. Can you give any legal advice? Please help.

The charge is a felony and a sex crime so he may get probation but will still have to register. If hehas already pled there is little you can do. If he is not guilty he should go to trial.
