Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
I mailed $16,500 to a mobile homes salesman made out in his name for a mobile home i never received. He was arrested for false pretense and has spent most of the money. Will I ever get my money back?

Since he was arrested, part of his sentencing was likely making restitution, which means paying you back. Unlike a civil debt like a judgment from a civil suit, an order to pay restitution is a criminal sentence and if he fails to pay you back he can be put in jail. Keep in touch with the DA's office and make sure they know if and when you are being paid.
