Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
if you take something off a mall booth trying to steal it. you put it down and it never leaves the mall and you give it back in the condition you took it. is that theft?

The act of removing something to which you have no right with intent to deprive its owner of it, is theft. Changing your mind and returning it was wise, but the crime was already committed.
