overpaid by a cashier
i was overpaid by a cashier. can i be held responsible? can i go to jail if i don't pay back?

The money is not yours and if you keep it, you have committed a theft. If it is over $100 it is a relative felony. If over $500, it is punishable by up to 10 years. Less than $100 is a misdemeanor.
