Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
If a person reports you for reckless driving, and police give you a ticket, which you are found not guilty for in court, can you sue the person who filed the report for anything (court fees, gas required to go to court, repayment for money lost for having to take a day off, ect ect.)?

The fact that the ticket was dismissed is not, in and of itself, proof positive that the person filed a false report against you. If you can prove that the report was false, you could have a cause of action for malicious prosecution and defamation. Falsely accusing someone of a crime is defamatory per se.
