Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
Police attain a search warrant for a vehicle looking for a weapon involved in a second degree battery. find 6 grams of cocaine during the search can they charge someone with the drugs even though the warrant was for a weapon?

Unless there was no reason to look where the cocaine was located (eg. can't look for a gun in a matchbox) the drugs are probably admissable as evidence.
